Reebok Nano X1 Review: Everything You Need to Know

The Reebok Nano franchise has over a decade of history to its name. The shoe was originally born out of the sport of CrossFit and designed to serve the performance needs of everyday box-goers and elite athletes alike. Over the past 10 years Reebok has continually evolved the silhouette of the Nano to adapt and evolve with the sport of CrossFit. However in the Nano X1 we see the most supportive, comfortable, and versatile training shoe the brand has ever made. The Nano X is all about versatility, its design is devoted to ensuring that it can be a shoe for all. This desire to service the wider training community beyond the realms of just CrossFit means that the X1 is ready to take on and tackle any fitness demand thrown its way. The Nano X1 is the Official Shoe of Fitness.

Let's take a look at the design features that make this the most versatile Nano to date...

INCREASED COMFORT

Designed to be the official shoe of fitness, the Nano X1 fuses the comfort of a running shoe with the performance credentials of a robust training shoe in order to meet the demands of the modern fitness landscape. It through the inclusion of Floatride technology in the midsole of the X1 that this superior comfort is achieved, making this Nano the best for running to date, a welcome evolution in this new era of home workouts.

The flexweave knit upper of the X1 also lends itself to ultimate comfort and breathability whilst remaining lightweight and versatile.

HEIGHTENED STABILITY

True to Nano form, the X1 places stability at the top of its priority list. The spacious toebox allows for foot splay to get a close to ground feel, whilst the heel to toe drop (at 7mm) provides a higher ankle position than other nanos, but a very stable chassis non-the-less. This stability is perfect for varied lifting workouts.

VARIED UPPER OPTIONS

For the first time ever in a Nano, the Nano X1 sees the inclusion of varied upper options with the choice of a Flexweave Knit or Flexweave Grit. The standard Reebok Nano X1 features Flexweave Knit, a soft yet strong, style-driven upper that consists of an all-new knitted material, providing max breathability; while the Grit model features an ultra-strong, lightweight and durable material that’s built to withstand the most extreme workouts. You choose the upper for your training.

NEW LOOK AESTHETICS

The Nano X1's technical features make the shoe a far more versatile option for a wider spectrum of fitness. However the shoe's aesthetic appearance is also a notable departure from the styling of the Nano X before it. The wide flat toe box and high rise tongue of the X is gone, and in its place we see a more formed toebox and universal design, suitable for both the gym and everyday wear. As Tal Short, Reebok Senior Product Designer, explains...“we aimed to create a style that our consumer would enjoy rocking from a workout class to running errands, while also feeling supported and comfortable all day.”

THE NANO X1 IS THE MOST VERSATILE NANO TO DATE, READY TO TAKE ON AND TAKLE ANY FITNESS DEMAND THROWN ITS WAY.
